Acetaminophen: OTC medication for mild pain and fever, also used to make azo dyes and photographic chemicals. AKA: paracetamol, Anacin III, Datril, Panadol, Phenaphen, Tempra, Tylenol.
Acetaminopheni is the most common cause of livenr failure. Reasearchers are finding that doses formerly considered safe may cause liver damage in peopel who take Tylenol regularly for chronic pain. Combining caffeine & Tylenol, or alcohol with Tylenol is especially dangerous.
People who take Tylenol long-term have a higher risk of developing kidney cancer.
