Fibromyalgia

Fibromyagia syndrome (FMS) is a disease in which people hurt all over, all the time. The causes are often unclear, and a multitude of theories have been offered. Massage therapy can be helpful for symptom relief, however lasting improvement from massage therapy alone is rare. People with fibromylgia need to consider changing what they eat & drink, and look at possible influences of past trauma.

Stop Using Caffeine, Artificial Sweeteners, MSG

It's essential for people with fibromyalgia to stop using all substances that cause pain. That includes coffee, decaffeinated coffee, tea, decaffeinated tea, and especially chocolate.
See caffeine.

The excitotoxins aspartame sucralose and MSG should be avoided by people with fibromyalgia.

Natural Remedies

Some people with fibromyalgia find supplements of magnesium, malic acid, or MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) helpful.

Vegan Diet Relieves Fibromyalgia

Vegan diets, especially raw food vegan diets, reduce the pain & stiffness of fibromyalgia.

This study showed that fibromyalgia patients were much healthier after a vegetarian diet. They didn't look at the effects on pain, just health.

This study didn't produce much improvement in fibromyalgia with a vegetarian diet. Since the diet was described as vegetarian rather than vegan, I'm guessing they included dairy products. Bangladesh diet is similar to Indian diet, which uses lots of dairy. Since dairy causes pain for many people, that could be why this study didn't help people.
